SANITATION REMINDERS FOR OYSTER BAY TOWN RESIDENTS Oyster Bay Town Councilman Chris J. Coschignano reminds residents that there are some important rules to remember when it comes to putting out the garbage. "No one wants to look at garbage or rubbish piled up for days or see someone's empty containers rolling around on a non-collection day," Councilman Coschignano stated. NO CALL REGISTRY EXPANDED TO CELL PHONES To provide even greater protection against unwanted telemarketing sales calls, New York State merged its highly successful "Do Not Call" registry with the National "Do Not Call" registry established by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). This action provides New Yorkers with the most comprehensive "Do Not Call" protection available. On February 1, 2006, cell phone numbers are now going to be released to telemarketing companies. Calls from telemarketers to your cell phone will eat up your minutes and end up costing you money in the long run. To prevent this, you can register on the National DO NOT CALL list at: https://www.donotcall.gov or by calling 888-382-1222 from your cell phone. It will only take a minute of your time and will block your number for five (5) years. After you register, your phone number will show up on the registry by the next day. Telemarketers have up t...

IN MASSAPEQUA, DREAMS COME TRUE Town of Oyster Bay Councilman Chris Coschignano is a life-long resident of the Town and has played baseball and other sports throughout his life in many of the Town’s parks. Over his lifetime he has seen the demand for field playing time continue to grow as more children, especially girls, have taken up sports. The Councilman commented on the addition of the new fields, "We have dozens of playing fields throughout the Town, but we needed more fields to keep up with the demand. The addition of the Field of Dreams really shows the community how committed we are to keeping our kids off the street and providing them a beautiful safe environment to play in." The Councilman added that he is thrilled to see how popular organized baseball, football or soccer has become for all kids. He said, "I am a father of both a boy and a girl and while I don’t want them to grow up too quickly, I look forward to being their coach someday. There is something extraordinary about se...
